Every student who has passed through Rosseau Lake College has a special place on campus; a spot that holds memories, where friendships were made, challenges were overcome, and quiet moments of reflection were found. For some, it might be the warmth of a fireside gathering at the point, the crisp morning air on the rugby field, or the peaceful solitude of the swim docks at sunrise.
For me, that place has always been the Lady Eaton section of the Robert Carreau Memorial Trail—the path that winds from the swim docks to the sailing docks. I have spent countless hours running and walking this trail over my time at Rosseau Lake College. It has been my space to think, to reset, and to take in the beauty of the campus in every season. And every time I return, I make sure to take a walk down memory lane, retracing the steps of my past and reconnecting with the place that shaped so many of my experiences.
As alumni, we all carry pieces of Rosseau Lake College with us, but sometimes, the most powerful way to reconnect is by revisiting those meaningful places—whether in person or in spirit. So, we invite you to reflect on your favourite place on campus. Was it a cozy spot in the library, a scenic lookout where you found inspiration, or a hidden bench where you sat with friends and talked about the future?
We’d love to hear your stories! Share your special place on the Rosseau Lake College Alumni Facebook Page or email kim.morton@rosseaulakecollege.com and reminisce with fellow alumni about the spaces that meant the most to you. If you have the chance to visit campus again, take the opportunity to walk those familiar paths and relive the moments that made Rosseau Lake College feel like home.
No matter where life takes us, the places that shaped us will always be a part of who we are.
