Walking the RCMT

The Robert Carreau Memorial Trail provides a serene woodland experience, connecting students to nature and fostering environmental learning.

The Robert Carreau Memorial Trail is a 2.5-kilometer ecological woodland trail system located on the campus of Rosseau Lake College in Muskoka, Ontario. It serves as a tribute to Robert Carreau and is an important feature of the campus.

The trail was a demanding project to construct, requiring several boardwalks over wet ground with a clay base, and involved moving large amounts of limestone by hand. It offers students, staff, and visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustle of daily life.

The trail is not just a physical path but also serves an educational purpose, allowing students to connect with nature and learn about local ecology. It has become an integral part of the Rosseau Lake College experience, offering a unique outdoor space for reflection, exercise, and environmental appreciation.
