Details

Fall Colours on Saturday, September 21, on the RLC campus, is a special time. Part homecoming, part fall fair, there will be events throughout the day with the Adventure Race kicking it off at 10:30.

Some highlights include a tour of the Recreation Centre site, which is amazing. The building is on schedule to be ready for programming in January.

There will be a BBQ lunch, and all are welcome to attend. The Robert Carreau Memorial Trail will be open for you to walk. The school store will be open and selling RLC swag, including the new RLC rugby shirt.

We'll be doing a sailing demonstration, showing off the new boats and sail dock, where we will be hosting a regatta with Lakefield later in the fall. At the swim dock there will be a wakeboard demonstration as well as the opportunity to ski or wakeboard under the guidance of Andy and his team from Muskoka Wake

We'll be joined on the day by the U of T Varsity Blues Women's Hockey Team. They're visiting campus to speak with students, and they'll also be taking part in the Adventure Race. Vicky Sunohara will be the starter. She was a member of Canada’s national women’s hockey program from 1989-2008, and is now head coach of the Varsity Blues.

The Adventure Race is something we did for first time last year, and it was excellent. So, we're excited to continue the tradition. It's a fun triathlon, taking in the various environments of the RLC campus. There's a run through the trails, a paddle around the lighthouse, and a swim that sets out from the marina.

You can do the whole race, which is great, but you don't need to in order to participate. You can grab some others and join as a group, taking legs individually, or you can join as a freelancer, assigned to a team. Of course, you can watch and cheer. Spectators are absolutely welcome and encouraged.

Fall Colours is just a great time to stop in at the campus, and we hope you do.
